BERLIN / PARIS — Scipio, a German defence technology company specialising in military logistics middleware, today announced a strategic partnership with Thales, a global leader in defence electronics and C4ISR solutions. Under this agreement, Scipio's Appia platform will be integrated with Thales' HexaForce C4ISR solution, creating a comprehensive, end-to-end multidomain command and logistics capability for armed forces.
The partnership unites two of Europe's most active defence technology developers across a shared Franco-German foundation. Thales brings decades of experience in C2 and battlefield digitisation; Scipio brings an Appia platform that has been progressively deployed in support of operational logistics requirements across several ongoing programmes in France and beyond.
By connecting HexaForce's command layer with Appia's ground-level logistics intelligence, the integration will enable operational staffs to act on accurate, real-time resupply data directly within their C2 environment, eliminating the information gaps that have long constrained frontline sustainment planning.
France and Germany, as two of the largest contributors to European defence capability development, have long anchored NATO's commitment to interoperability and industrial cooperation. This partnership operationalises a Franco-German software alliance designed to ensure that future joint force commanders have the situational awareness and supply chain control their missions require, from the planning cell to the forward edge.
"This partnership is a defining moment for Scipio. Integrating Appia with HexaForce means that for the first time, European armed forces can operate with a unified picture of their command intent and their logistical reality simultaneously. European defence has always been built on collaboration between its strongest industrial nations, and we are proud that our two companies are now embodying that in software."
Philipp Enzinger, CEO, Scipio
"HexaForce is built on the conviction that next-generation C4ISR must be connected to every layer of the operational environment, including the logistical one. Scipio's Appia platform is among the most sophisticated logistics middleware available to European armed forces today, and this integration will significantly expand what HexaForce can deliver to our customers. We look forward to building on this partnership in the years ahead."
Olivier Kermagoret, VP Defence, Thales
